Baci Sospesi for Gaza

From Italy and the world to Gaza.
Direct connection, concrete support.

Words, like clouds, cross borders. Let’s nurture our common humanity, and send a direct message to the suffering people of Gaza.

For too long, civilians in Gaza have been reaching us through images, testimonies and voices that for (many of) us are truly heartbreaking. Yet, even the worst news can gradually fade into the background when everyday madness screams louder.
What can we do? We can keep our hearts alive and beating, and keep the light switched on, because innocent people are still dying every day.
The least we can do is let the people in Gaza feel our support. We have a direct bridge to do so.

From attention to action

This initiative began in April 2026, with a message I received via Facebook from Sami Abu Omar, a Palestinian journalist and activist living in Gaza, who studied in Italy in his youth and speaks Italian. Sami works with the non-profit Italian organisation ACS Associazione Collaborazione e Solidarietà. He wrote: can we do a social artivism initiative here in Gaza together? And of course I said yes, immediately. He asked me whether Baci Sospesi could help build a kind of “bridge of love” from Italy to Gaza, and of course I jumped immediately on board. Then I said: Sami, you also need material help there. How can we add that to the Baci Sospesi exchange? This is where ACS and I started a conversation. ACS is a respected NGO working in Palestine for many years, and in Gaza they are supporting the civilian population concretely with vital projects, especially for the kids and the youngsters.

So there we go: a dedicated website has been designed to collect and share testimonies and messages for Gaza and from Gaza, thanks to Sami and all the people around him. The site will also provide a direct link to the ACS crowdfunding campaign, allowing you to support the kids in Gaza directly, immediately and effectively.

At its centre is a simple decision: to turn heartfelt attention into a connection between hearts, and that connection into concrete support.
