What’s next

Bring Baci Sospesi to new places.

Barbara wants to bring Baci Sospesi to new towns, villages, museums, festivals, schools, libraries, cultural centres, riverbanks, seafronts and online communities.

The aim is for more voices to be heard, for messages to connect people who may never meet, and for the red baci to become a visible sign for people who have protected their capacity for affection, empathy, hope, sensitivity and courage.

Take action!

If you envision a permanent Baci Sospesi installation in your community, it’s time to take action.
It’s absolutely possible, with time, permissions, sufficient funding, participation, the right space and some perseverance. It may start with the interest of a curator, a public administrator, an artist, a teacher, an organiser, a sponsor or citizen. You.
If you think Baci Sospesi belongs there where you are, and you can help make it happen, write to Barbara, and involve whoever else should be part of the conversation.
There’s no better moment than the present to plant beauty in this world!

A framework for new artistic interpretations

Future collaborations with artists begin with the Manifesto and an agreement about values, roles, materials, access, decisions and credits. Each artist can bring an autonomous language. Barbara remains responsible for deciding whether the proposal can carry the name Baci Sospesi.

A credit such as “Artist’s name for Baci Sospesi” makes this relationship possible, healthy and sustainable. The artist’s contribution and the continuity of the project thrive together.

New forms of participation

The Baci Sospesi Cloud is an online space where you can offer a message to the world and read those left by others.
Leave a few words of love, hope, courage or connection. Your message will join the Cloud after Barbara has read and approved it.

The forthcoming Baci Sospesi book brings together the origin, voices, forms and principles of the project. This website is a place to explore them, listen and begin taking active part.
